    Guidance & Counselling

    The aim of the Guidance and Counselling Programme is to help students harmonise their abilities, interests and values, thereby enabling them to develop their potential fully. Self-knowledge helps in formulating life goals and plans that are realistic. Each school  appoint a full-time counsellor to assist the students.

    Under the Guidance and Counselling Programme, the following topics are discussed with students of classes 6 to 8:

    1. To develop healthy study habits:

    Make a day-long work schedule of the student and identify their study time.

    Make a self-study plan.

    Prepare a checklist for following their study plan.

    Develop a self-reward technique for maintaining the study plan.

    How a healthy study habit helps in getting good grades in the examination.

    2. To make students health conscious:

    Prepare a list of what we eat mostly.

    Foods that we eat and their nutritional value.

    Importance of three meals a day.

    Homemade food vs. street food.

    Why do we fall sick?

    Awareness about some seasonal diseases.

    Discussion on our food habits and their impact on our studies.

    3. Maintaining friendship:

    Why do we need a friend?

    A good friend is one who…?

    Prepare a list of good habits in my friend.

    4. Preparation and planning for exams:

    Make sure that the class work/homework notebook is completed before the exam.

    Make a daily study plan.

    How to improve concentration for study?

    Set realistic goals and time for study.

    What should we do before exams?

    How to improve our class learning?

    How to develop interest in a subject?

     

    Under the guidance and counselling programme, the following topics are discussed with the students of class 10, 11 and 12:

    Look at yourself to know about your interest.

    Self management.

    Self-realisation checklist.

    Discussion about the scope of their subject.

    Set an aim in life.

    Self-study management.

    Discussion about some entrance exams like JEE, NEET, AIIMS, CAT, CLAT.

    Knowing the behaviour of our friends.

    How do we spend our time in a day?

    What is most important in our life?

    Discussion on some professional courses after 12th.
